Lizette Villaverde RCST

Lizette Villaverde is a craniosacral therapist, educator and course facilitator who has been practising and teaching Craniosacral Therapy for more than a decade. She qualified with the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London in 2014 and has since taught extensively in the UK and internationally, supporting students and practitioners in developing both the practical and perceptual foundations of the work.

Her approach is rooted in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and brings together an understanding of the nervous system, fascia, trauma-informed practice and the relational qualities of therapeutic touch. She has undertaken further training in pre- and perinatal work, trauma, ScarWork and fascial approaches, and these influences have shaped a way of working that is curious, spacious and attentive to the body as an interconnected whole.

At the heart of Lizette's work is an interest in how we meet another person through touch. Rather than approaching the body as something that needs to be corrected or fixed, she teaches practitioners to develop the sensitivity to listen—to anatomy, movement, fluidity, nervous system responses and the subtle ways the body communicates and reorganises.

Before becoming a craniosacral therapist, Lizette trained and worked in social work, receiving her BA in Social Work from Michigan State University in 2004. This background continues to inform her commitment to accessibility, inclusion and community-based care. She co-founded the Craniosacral Collaborative in 2019 and subsequently developed Cranio in the Community, creating opportunities for craniosacral therapy to reach people who might not otherwise have access to the work.

Alongside her clinical practice, Lizette has developed and taught postgraduate trainings exploring trauma-informed craniosacral therapy, fascia and fascial unwinding, scar tissue, early imprints, the nervous system and the integration of somatic awareness within hands-on practice. She teaches internationally and facilitates residential trainings and retreats in the UK, Croatia, and Bali.

Craniosacral Somatics grew from this work and from a desire to make high-quality craniosacral education accessible to a wider community. Through foundation courses, online learning and experiential training, Lizette's teaching invites people to understand the body not simply through anatomy and technique, but through relationship, perception and embodied experience.
